Book with a preface by François Châtelet, published in 1884 by Presses Universitaires de Tunis. It deals with the idea of war in modern political philosophy. It devotes the first chapter to Thomas More, the second chapter to the idea of war in Hobbes and Locke and the third chapter to Rousseau. Then the book diagnosed the idea of war in Spinoza and Kant in the fourth chapter and in Hegel and Nietzsche in the fifth. The last chapters are devoted to Clausewitz and Marxism.
